The biggest primary school and grammar school in the Punsk District is Darius and Girenas’ Group of Schools with Polish and Lithuanian as Languages of Instruction . Near the building of the school, there is the 11th March Grammar School and Profiled High School with Polish and Lithuanian as Languages of Instruction. It is the only Lithuanian high school in Poland.

In Punsk, there is also a Polish-Lithuanian self-governed nursery school. There are also primary schools in Nowiniki (Navinykai), Widugiery (Vidugiriai) and Przystawańce (Pristavonys).

In Sejny, there are two operating schools, in which classes with Lithuanian as a learning language are conducted: Gymnasium “Žiburys” and Gymnasium no. 2. There is also a primary school in Krasnowo (Krasnavas), in the area of Sejny. In the Gymnasium no. 1 in Sejny, there is a possibility ofo learning Lithuanian as an extracurricular activity. Other schools offering this type of learning are located in Ogrodniki (Aradnykai) and Klejwy (Klevai).

Several lithuanian organizations  exist in Poland:

• the Association of Lithuanians in Poland
• the Lithuanian Community in Poland
• the Association of Lithuanian Youth in Poland
• the Lithuanian Ethnic Culture Society
• the Lithuanian Teachers Society
• the Saint Casimir’s Society
• the Bishop Anatanas Baranauskas’s Foundation “House of Lithuanians”

Several groups work in co-operation with the House of Lithuanian Culture in Puńsk :

• a mixed choir „Dzūkija”
• a folk band „Klumpė”
• a choreographic group „Jotwa”
• a children’s band „Puniukai”
• a dancing group „Vyčiai“
• a barn theatre

A pivotal role for the Lithuanian-speaking community plays „Aušra” Publishing House, which prepares and publishes Lithuanian course books, books in Lithuanian and Polish, and „Aušra” magazine published from 1960, “Šaltinis” magazine, a monthly magazine for children “Aušrelė”, and a quarterly “Suvalkietis”.

TVP Białystok broadcasts a programme in Lithuanian (lasting for half an hour) once in a week, while Radio Białystok broadcasts radio programmes (lasting an hour).
It is difficult to find any web pages in the Internet written in or about the Dzuk dialect. The Dzuks do not create any exclusive groups or take part in social networking services and finding even one comment written in their dialect is utterly difficult. The place of their Southern Aukshtaitish dialect is occupied by the Lithuanian literary language.
