Graphic systems
All graphic systems used by the High German dialects spoken on the present-day Poland, were modified versions of Latin script (also in the form of Gothic minuscule). The selection of graphic signs is influenced predominantly by the Standard German orthography (although in case of borrowings from Slavic languages, authors very often preserve separate writing standards). What is more, some local dialects survived predominantly in the researchers notes, who used various phonetic systems, abounding in diacritic marks.
